Reuben Ogbonna is the co-founder and executive director of The Marcy Lab School, a one-year, industry-co-designed alternative to college that prepares production-ready software engineers. Since 2019, Marcy Lab has supported nearly 300 Fellows, with graduates landing roles at companies such as Microsoft, Bloomberg, and Asana, spanning large enterprise, high-growth startups, and leading media/tech organizations. The fellowship blends rigorous technical training with leadership development and real product work, so graduates arrive with strong fundamentals, team habits, and practical AI literacy. A Raleigh native with family roots in Imo State, Nigeria, and Shreveport, Louisiana, Reuben previously coached teachers across New York City as a director at Teach For America. Outside of work, heβs a devoted dad and an avid cook, happiest grilling on his Big Green Egg to Afrobeats and old-school R&B.
