Sam Khawasé is an Engineering Leader with over two decades of experience dedicated to creating rock-solid software. Classically trained in Computer Science and Engineering, his expertise is centred on designing and securing complex, high-performance mission-critical systems. He is a technical leader known for driving engineering excellence and leading cross-functional teams across complex domains. Sam brings a unique global perspective, having lived and worked across 3½ continents. Fluent in six languages, he is an expert in cross-cultural communication, leveraging this skill to effectively lead diverse, high-performing distributed engineering teams. Passionate about making a difference in society, Sam has also founded CoderDojo DSM and continues to mentor underrepresented people through initiatives like Django Girls and NavGurukul. Based in Berlin, Sam channels the same tenacity he applies to engineering into his personal life. He is an avid runner and trekker, constantly seeking out challenging trails and mountain routes. When he’s not on the trail, you’ll find him reading a book, donning the chef’s hat for his daughter, or shaking a leg to Bollywood tunes.
