Rachael Wonnacott

Rachael Wonnacott recently joined Capital Group as Global Head of Software and Applied AI Engineering in the Enterprise Data Office, building where machine learning meets the application lifecycle to make processes AI-native. She came to management in early 2023, into the efficiency era, with no hypergrowth playbook. That meant interrogating the definition of “good management”, not inheriting one from a more forgiving moment. With a decade as an engineer, she watched the standard shift and saw engineers resist management styles from different eras, not because those styles were wrong, but because they were calibrated to conditions that no longer exist.
