Learn the leadership skills and perspectives that will allow you to outperform in a fast moving technological landscape.
People haven’t changed, but the environment we are in has. The rate of change of tech is increasing faster than ever. At the same time young people are relearning the lessons we have all gained and take for granted. Did we just copy the leaders before us? Absolutely not, however we did observe and build on what they did (even when what we learnt was to do the opposite).
And when we didn’t learn? History repeated itself. We replicated the failings that we observed in the previous generation.
Fast forward to how things are now. We are flat out in our roles with everyday implementation. Organisations are hiring fewer junior engineers, fewer junior managers; we have less time to spend developing them, and people are training themselves how to lead by talking to ChatGPT.
If we don’t remember to prioritise implementing our hard won lessons: values, culture, relationships, deep tech understanding; how will we pass it on? How will we stop history repeating itself?
