Rodney J. Woodruff is a seasoned Vice President of Engineering at Salesforce, the world’s leading customer relationship management (CRM) technology, helping organizations of all sizes build and improve their customer relationships and re-imagine their business for the world of AI using Agentforce. In his current role, Rodney spearheads the engineering strategy and execution for several mission-critical platforms within the Salesforce Commerce Cloud, including Cart, Checkout, Payments, Order Management, Shipping, and Tax with a significant focus on the overall platform’s Performance and Scale.
Leveraging his profound understanding of complex, large-scale systems and the intricacies of the eCommerce landscape, Rodney is instrumental in aligning technical initiatives with overarching business growth objectives. His extensive career in the eCommerce and retail sectors includes a significant tenure as a Vice President of Engineering at Shopify, where he led the Storefronts Engineering team, empowering countless merchants to establish and grow impactful online presences. His track record includes building eCommerce platforms from the ground up and delivering successful omni/multichannel solutions for prominent brands such as Gucci, Steve Madden, and WW (formerly Weightwatchers), establishing him as a results-oriented leader with expertise in team building and stakeholder collaboration.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Rodney is deeply committed to fostering a more inclusive tech industry. He has volunteered his time and expertise with organizations such as Girls Who Code, the Microsoft TEALS program, and The Marcy Lab School and is dedicated to creating meaningful pathways for individuals from underrepresented groups to access and excel in technology careers.
Outside of his demanding professional life, Rodney greatly values the time spent with his wife of 25 years, cherishes spending quality time with his daughters at their various sporting events, and enjoys pursuing his own personal side projects.
