These terms and conditions apply to all LeadDev events. They should be read together with our Privacy Policy at leaddev.com/data-promise and our Code of Conduct at leaddev.com/code-conduct , which all attendees, speakers, sponsors and staff agree to follow.
Tickets, transfers and refunds
Tickets are non-refundable. If you are no longer able to attend, you may transfer your ticket to a colleague or friend by emailing hello@leaddev.com. Please contact us as early as possible and at least two days before the event where possible.
Event communications
We will email you essential event information, including joining instructions and schedule updates.
If you opt in during registration, we may also send essential operational updates by SMS and/or WhatsApp. These updates do not include marketing unless you separately consent.
If you opt in to WhatsApp updates, we may add you to a WhatsApp Business Broadcast List used only for essential event information. Other attendees will not be able to see your phone number or profile information, and you may opt out at any time.
Optional WhatsApp Channels may be provided for content updates. Joining a Channel is voluntary.
Photos and footage
We photograph and film our events. By attending, you give us permission to use images or footage of you for our marketing and editorial purposes.
If you would prefer not to appear in published photos, please let our team know at registration and we will provide you with an alternative coloured lanyard.
Social media
We may reproduce public quotes or feedback you share about the event, with full credit.
Accessibility
We aim to make our events accessible to as many people as possible. Venues are wheelchair accessible and we provide live captioning for talks. If you have specific accessibility needs, please email hello@leaddev.com.
Programme changes
From time to time, advertised speakers may change. We may substitute speakers where necessary and will always aim to maintain the quality of the programme.
DirectorPlus Pass
A DirectorPlus Pass may be added to certain tickets at no additional cost, subject to eligibility (Head of Engineering, Director, VP or CTO roles). We reserve the right to review all attendees and, if we determine that you do not meet the eligibility criteria for a DirectorPlus pass, the pass will be voided. Tickets themselves remain valid and non-refundable.
Badge scanning and sponsor interactions
Your badge includes a unique barcode. If you choose to allow a sponsor to scan your badge, you consent to LeadDev sharing your professional and contact details (as described in our Privacy Policy) with that sponsor. Sponsors become independent controllers of that data and may contact you according to their own privacy notices.
Choosing not to have your badge scanned will not affect your participation in the event.
See the Event Privacy Summary below for more information.
Code of conduct
All attendees, speakers, sponsors and staff agree to comply with our Code of Conduct, which can be found at leaddev.com/code-conduct. We may remove individuals who violate the Code without refund.
Postponement
If we postpone an event and you cannot attend the new date, we will provide a credit equal to 100% of the fee paid, usable for another LeadDev event within one year.
Event Privacy Summary
This Event Privacy Summary explains how we handle your personal data when you register for and attend a LeadDev event. It sits alongside our full privacy policy at leaddev.com/data-promise, which provides detailed information about your rights and how we use data across all of our services.
What information we collect
When you register for an event or engage with LeadDev content, we collect the information you provide to us and information generated through your use of our services. This may include:
- your name, email address and mobile number
- your job title, seniority, company name, industry, company size and country
- information about your company, e.g. tech stack and procurement preferences
- your event registration details
- your attendance at sessions
- your engagement with LeadDev content online (for example, which videos you watched or resources you downloaded)
- additional professional and company-level information from third-party providers (e.g. Apollo or Clay). This can include: job title and seniority; company name, industry and size; technographic data (technology stack and procurement preferences); firmographic indicators such as funding stage; publicly available professional profiles; and role-related interests or topic areas. We do not enrich personal-life data or special-category data.
- we may supplement records via manual desk research using publicly-available professional sources (for example LinkedIn and company websites)
- any accessibility or dietary information you choose to provide
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- manage your registration, ticket and access to the event
- contact you with essential operational updates (for example, joining instructions, meeting reminders, schedule changes or last-minute venue alerts)
- confirm your eligibility for certain event activities
- match you with attendees and sponsors where there is mutual interest
- deliver live and on-demand event content through LeadDev.com
- understand event attendance and content engagement
- improve our events and services
- comply with our legal obligations
We may contact you by email for operational reasons. If you have explicitly opted in, we may also send essential operational updates by SMS or WhatsApp. We do not use WhatsApp or SMS for marketing unless you have separately given consent.
Sharing data with event sponsors
Your event badge will contain a unique barcode. Sponsors may ask to scan your badge so that they can contact you after the event.
You may also choose to participate in certain sponsored activities via the Event App, for example a sponsored workshop or hands-on lab. Sponsored activities will be clearly marked in the Event App with a notice that you consent to your data being shared with the sponsor by registering for the activity.
If you allow a sponsor to scan your badge, or you register for a sponsored activity via the Event App, you give us your explicit permission to share the following data with that sponsor (if provided):
- your name and contact details (email address and mobile/telephone number)
- your job title, seniority
- information about your company (including company name, industry, company size, tech stack and procurement preferences)
- your country or region
- information about your engagement with LeadDev content or sessions (online or onsite)
- additional professional and company-level information enriched from third-party providers or via desk research (see above).
Sponsors receive this information as independent data controllers and will use it in line with their own privacy notices. Choosing not to have your badge scanned will not affect your event experience.
We do not share your information with sponsors unless you choose to have your badge scanned or provide explicit consent elsewhere (i.e. via the Event App).
The up-to-date list of sponsors for the event can be found in the footer of the event homepage.
We understand that some sponsors and third parties may try to contact you before our events by using publicly available information (like social media posts) to guess who is attending. We want to be clear: LeadDev never shares attendee information with these third parties and has no connection with them.
WhatsApp channels and broadcast lists
If you opt in during registration, we may contact you via WhatsApp with essential operational information (for example, urgent schedule changes or venue updates). When you opt in:
- we may add your number to a WhatsApp Business Broadcast List, which allows us to send operational updates without exposing your phone number to other attendees
- you may opt out at any time from within WhatsApp or by contacting hello@leaddev.com
- WhatsApp (Meta) will process your phone number and message metadata under its own terms
- Members of our team may contact you via WhatsApp – e.g. if you have missed a meeting or activity, to help you reschedule.
We may also offer WhatsApp Channels for optional content updates. Joining a Channel is voluntary and must be done by you within WhatsApp.
How long we keep your data
We keep event attendee data for up to 10 years, unless a longer period is required by law or you ask us to delete it sooner. Marketing preferences may be kept for a shorter period in line with industry standards.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict your information, object to processing (including profiling), or export your data. Details of how to exercise your rights are in our full privacy policy. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@leaddev.com.
